FAQ'S

Lucy and Scott-738

Where are you based?

I am based in Gillingham, North Dorset.

Do you charge for travel?

I do not charge additional travel cost for weddings within a 60-mile radius of Gillingham Dorset. Anything further afield is charged fairly and will be discussed before booking.

I want to book a Family/ engagement/maternity shoot with you - What should we wear?

Wear what you feel comfortable in. I would advise that you stay away from any clothing with large patterns or logos on as this will date your images and they distract the viewer from the important part of the picture - you! If you are having a family shoot then please consider wearing certain colours that complement each other.  Oh and if you can try and avoid trainers! I'm happy to discuss this further with you.

How do I choose my images from the shoot?

I will upload all the edited images from your shoot and put them into a password-protected, private gallery for you to view. Once I know the images you require I will put them onto a USB. They are all high-resolution files so you can upload and print them as many times as you wish.

We are both camera shy – help!

Me too! I hate having my photo taken and can completely empathise with you. All I will say is that you won’t even know I am there half the time and I’m very skilled in knowing when to get those awesome candid shots, which everyone loves.

I'm getting married - do you offer an engagement shoot?

I love to photograph engagement shoots. These are not currently in my wedding packages, however, I believe they are the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each other before the big day. I offer my engagement shoots at a reduced price for couples that are booking their wedding day with me. Please get in touch for further information.

How long until we get our wedding day images?

Please allow four weeks after your wedding day, to allow me time to fully edit each image with care.

What gear do you shoot with?

I am a two-bodied shooter and have two Canon 5Diii. I shoot primarily with prime lenses and have the 24mm, 35mm, 50mm and 85mm lenses but I also have the 24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 zoom lenses.

Will you take formal group photos?

Yes, of course, I will. This is your big day and everyone wants a few traditional photos of their family and friends. Having seen examples of my work, you know that I have a reportage and documentary style to my photography. I would much rather you be enjoying the day so that I catch those emotional moments naturally rather than spending hours looking for Great Aunt Edith! I therefore strongly suggest you limit your number of group shots to a maximum of eight.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have public liability insurance and professional identity insurance

What will happen if you are ill or circumstances prevent you from being able to get to our wedding day?

I will do everything in my power to be there (and I haven't missed one yet) but I do make arrangements with another photographer so that they can get to your wedding day if I can’t.

Do you need feeding on the wedding day?

Yes, please! Nobody likes pictures of themselves eating so when you and your guests are all getting fed, this is when I will take my break. If you can throw some food my way then I would be very grateful.

Do you have an assistant?

Yes, I will have an assistant with me. They are also a trainee photographer, so you'll have even more images from your day. All the images will be edited by myself, Louisa so there is the same finish.

How many photos am I likely to get from the day?

If you have me for half a day (six hours) you are likely to get around 300-400 images. If you have me all day then you can expect to have around 600 plus fully edited images.

Can we have your RAW files and edit the images ourselves?

I’m sorry but I don’t give out any of my original RAW files and I do all the editing myself.

The images that we get on the USB – can we print them?

Yes of course. You can print and upload them to your heart’s content. They are all high-resolution files that you can have printed into photo albums, canvases and the like.

Can I share my images on Facebook?

Yes, I would encourage you to do this. It’s a great way for all your friends and family to catch up with the images taken on the big day. I will also do a blog of some of the images from the day and you can share this on your Facebook site as well as any other social networking sites.
