I have been a wedding photographer for nearly a decade. My journey into wedding photography began with a profound desire to capture authentic moments and tell unique love stories. Fuelled by a deep passion for creativity and love for working with people, it was then that I found my love for wedding photography.
My work has been featured in various online publications I have won awards within documentary photography competitions. I am known for having a natural photography style, but equally love to push the boundaries of my creativity with more curated images.

REAL PEOPLE, REAL MOMENTS WITH REAL EMOTION
Why pick me as your Dorset wedding photographer? I am hugely driven by emotion and I absolutely love people. Before becoming a wedding photographer I used to be a Mental Health Nurse. Observing people and how they interact is my superpower! At weddings I am constantly anticipating moments that happen that tell your love story. No two weddings are the same so I am always looking for interesting moments, beautiful light and composition so that I can document your day as artistically as possible. On your wedding day I like to be right in the action capturing every special moment and tiny detail.

I love nothing more than capturing all the emotions that happen during a wedding day from the nerves before walking down the aisle, the tears of joy and excitement, the raucous laughter from the best man's speech to the crazy dance floor moves. It is so important to me that you enjoy your wedding day, with all the special people in your life and it remains the best day of your life. I strive to take images that not only transports you back to that moment in time but most importantly to relive the feeling you encountered.

My Approach as a documentary wedding photographer
I DON'T WANT TO MISS A THING
For starters I am always carrying around two cameras with two different lenses this immediately makes me prepared for any story-telling moment that might come up. I usually have two different types of lenses on my cameras which allows means I won't be wasting precious time changing lenses, so I always have one that will be right to the moment! As soon as I arrive at bridal prep, I will make friends with you. I have found that as soon as I am in the thick of the day with all the preparations going on this helps people relax with my presence which allows me to capture those all important candid moments. As a documentary wedding photographer based in the picturesque landscapes of Dorset, my approach is all about capturing the real, unscripted moments that make your day extraordinary.
NO AKWARD POSES, JUST GENUINE SMILES
Forget stiff and awkward poses! I will never ask you to look directly at the camera (unless you want to of course!) I might give you some prompts when you're having your couple shots but mainly I will just encourage you to spend time together, I love nothing more than for my couples and their guests to feel as relaxed as possible on their special day for it to be fun and memorable. I am always carefully waiting and watching for beautiful moments to occur which tell your unique story.
TELLING YOUR STORY
Every wedding is completely different . Documentary photography can be hard as you don't know what might happen next. Sometimes it is simply anticipating some thing might happen; certainly with 9 years of wedding photography experience this is a skill that gets stronger and stronger . I always strive to capture the true authentic emotions from the day so I shoot a lot throughout a wedding making sure that I get array of different compositions and expressions so that when you look back on your wedding day photos you not only remember the moment but the feeling it conjures up too.

From intimate moments to grand celebrations, so the documentary style preserves the magic of your day. Located in North Dorset, I am fortunate enough to be so close to so many stunning venues across Wiltshire, Somerset and Hampshire, in fact I shall travel where ever the love is!
After the wedding day I carefully cull and edit your images. Each one is carefully edited with lovely warm tones.

I won't just take your pictures I will be there to help carry the dress and flowers and get you anything you might need!

EDIT AND DELIVER
I aim to always get some previews sent out to you within a week of your wedding hours so that you can share them with friends and family. The full gallery will be complete within a few weeks.

What is documentary wedding photography?
Documentary wedding photography is is a style of capturing wedding moments in a candid manner. This style often results in a more authentic and storytelling approach to wedding photography, providing a collection of images that reflect the true atmosphere and emotions of the wedding day.

What happens if it rains on my wedding day ?
I know this is always a concern with the British weather being so unpredictable but I have shot in storms and torrential rain and if anything it just makes your images more creative. I always think, just go with it and make the most of it.

How far in advance should I book a wedding photographer?
Wedding photography can get booked months even years in advance. Dates go very quickly so if you have a particular date in mind then it best to book your favourite suppliers as soon as you can.

Do you do engagement shoots?
Yes, I do engagement and couple photography. In fact you can take a look at examples of my work here. I love photographing couples and engagement shoots and to be a Dorset wedding photographer we are spoilt for choice for such beautiful locations in the area. It really does give us a fantastic opportunity to get to know each other before your special day!
